Outtakes from the Summer of ‘26
Hey!
Yesterday I was blah, blah, blahing about how busy and overwhelming my life is right now when my business bestie Maegan Megginson said, in her characteristic, straight-to-the-heart-of-it way:
“You sound like a mom in summer.”
Wow.
Boy, did that take the drama out of it! Took me from feeling very “woe is me” to noticing that I’m merely a mother of two boys on summer vacation, as well as a person who enjoys music festivals, owns many boats and likes sunshine.
So instead of offering business advice (BORING!) today, I’ll share my summer in pictures.
I hope all these images don’t break your inbox!
First, my crazy-handsome brother Caleb is visiting. Enjoy this gratuitous picture of his handsomeness. He’s also my boyfriend’s bestie since childhood. Cool, huh? A story for another day. Here they are driving to a job site.

Today (i.e. last Thursday) I had THE BEST PADDLE OF THE SUMMER by far. Outrageous beauty! All the rowers must’ve been at a regatta or something because it was just me and one annoying black fly on the water the whole time.

I love where I live so much. This waterway is clean and doesn’t allow motorboats. I haven’t tried drinking the water but it seems like you could.
Next, my sister’s triplets!
Holy hell, could life be any more generous?! They are more than six months old and they are healthy. I forget about all my my petty problems every time I lift up one of these sweets girls (Raven, Reign and Riot ← amazing, right?). Since my own babies aren’t babies anymore, I can once again enjoy snuggling and burping little ones. Getting barfed on is fun again!

My camera roll has a million more family pictures that I don’t want to bore you with since you have your own treasured people. Suffice to say these pictures remind me I’m living right, spending time with the people I love.
This weekend I’m going to Hillside Music Festival, then next month Maegan and I are going camping, which is going to be epic. She asked me if there would be a lot of bugs and I was tempted to reply with a GIF of Mr. T.
I PITY THE FOOL!
I resisted. Let us hope she’s not reading this 👀.
I’m thinking of doing another Summer Rewind in August. I did this two years ago when I was busy becoming a NATIONAL MEDALIST with no time for emails. Instead we sent a series of my greatest hits. Claude is working on finding the most popular emails of the last three years but my honest take is that this job needs a human touch.* You can only infer so much from who clicked and opened what.
Also in other news I switched back to ChatGPT. HA! I feel like the biggest rebel, rebelling against the ChatGPT rebellion!
Whatever you’re doing this summer, I hope it includes laughing and singing and enjoying yourself, which is the ultimate act of rebellion these days.
XOXO,
Tarzan

🧑💻 You know your website needs work. But before you spiral… get your s*ite together! One task per day, no tech skills, no yeeting your laptop into the abyss. 🎟️ It feels like everyone on this list must already know about Liz Wilcox and her Annual Pass (affiliate link) but I’ll say it again just in case. Liz is crazy good at email and if you want to get better at it without buying another two thousand dollar program, this is probably the best way. (I also enjoy two thousand dollar programs, personally. I just spent three on one I’m really excited about – details later.)
🧑💻 My favourite thing right now is learning Québecois slang on TikTok. Hilarious expressions like, “Y pleut à boire deboutte,” which means, “It’s raining hard enough to drink standing up.”
🐕 I’m also very into dogs on TikTok. Like this guy and his Dobermans.
