A Big Ol’ Update About The Summer of 2026

Back from camping, still so tired!

Are you oh-so-tired of me talking about being tired?! I’m bored of myself, man! But 2026 was my Summer of Overworking. I hope that’s the last time I ever sell, create and deliver a program in eight weeks.

Phew!

Way too much.

I feel like I need a three-year-long nap.

Let’s shift the focus on the best things about this summer.

Maegan and I camped on a place called “Crotch Lake,” which prompted a really good t-shirt idea that encompasses my entire business strategy: I did it for the subject line. (Credit to Maegan aka “the fun one.”)

Maegan unfortunately did not respond to my notes on how to make your face look normal in pictures. She looks like this in all of them 👇

The second best thing about camping was reading the book Yesteryear. Thank you, Caro Claire Burke for writing a book about the fucked up waters I swim in daily as an internet marketing person. Holy hell! Drop everything and READ THIS BOOK IMMEDIATELY, my friend .

My kids and I bought this unhinged expansion pack for Monopoly that we can’t stop playing — including this picture mostly for Maegan so she can learn cool poses from my kids.

Most of my favourite moments were the totally normal ones my kids and I spent together. I have this new sentence that’s working on them which is, “Can we have a moment of connection before I take you back to Dad’s?” and that’s usually Monopoly.

Two of my brothers visited from Alaska and Edmonton this summer, but I was barely there for that given my brain being wrecked from overuse. Wait, this was the not-complaining section! Damn. Since I am down one brother it feels like a crime to miss these moments. I’m mad I couldn’t pull myself back and be present with them.

Alas!

The card I pulled for this summer said I should get comfortable “getting lost to get found.”

The summer really was a long wander in the great archetypal forest, wow. And some literal forests.

One of my favourite days of summer was attending a pro tennis match with my guy. By the end of that sweltering hot day under the sun and too many tequila palomas, my attitude turned full-gremlin and I picked a huge fight with my boyfriend.

Not proud!

But this is the first time since my divorce that I have a partner who knows me and loves me enough to not take me too seriously in moments like that. I really love this guy, and I love being a blended family. This is one part of my life I won’t be spilling in email tho. Except to say it’s good and I’m proud. Everyone is getting more care and more love, including me.

It feels like time to officially call myself recovered from divorce. Only took me 5 years, but here we are!

My co-parent and I had our annual financial check-in where we review expenses and renegotiate our support agreement. Every year this gets easier, but this one had a whole different energy. Instead of approaching it with a strategy about how to pay less money, I just felt so grateful to support our family while he builds his career. It felt collaborative. Like, your leaky roof is my leaky roof, let’s figure it out together.

Lastly, my mastermind promo was a slam dunk this year — for the first time ever, I had more qualified applicants than spots available. Really smart, deep thinkers with very big careers behind and ahead of them. I feel so honoured. It was the one thing that was easy this summer.

I’m so damn tired but I’m also proud of myself. I hold a lot and I do it gracefully.

For me this is a “lazy email” but it’s the kind my email subscribers say they most enjoy. I hope you loved it.

Hit “reply” and tell me if so.

Future newsletter ideas welcome. I’m in a bit of a newsletter slump at the moment.

Back soon!
