How I Take Care Of Myself After Spaceholding

By the time you get this, I’ll be on Easy Street.
Right now, I’m doing 90 miles an hour on Uncomfortable Street, getting ready to host my event Song & Story.
You know that moment, right before you’re about to go away on vacation, and suddenly you can’t remember what version of you could possibly have thought this was a good idea? Suddenly it seems so much easier to stick with what’s normal and predictable, even if it’s a little painful.
That’s me at the time of writing.
But you’re reading this much later, and another part of me is so confident it’ll be the Best Retreat Ever that I’m leaving a placeholder for an epic photo that (fingers crossed) perfectly captures what an incredible time we had.
I’m prewriting this email to buy myself some integration time.
Post-retreat I’m heading to a sweet little cabin in the woods where I’ll be snuggling my dude, watching the leaves fall, going on very short paddles, and reading book two of Crescent City (House of Who Cares And They All Sound The Same — don’t tell my friend Maegan Megginson but I’m six books and 3300 pages deep into Sarah J. Maas, and still pretending I don’t like it.)
But current day me is on edge because, like my participants, I’m gearing up to do something uncomfortable.
…which is entrepreneurship in a nutshell—endless opportunities to be uncomfortable. It’s why we grow so much from it.
I’ll check in next week with a real update.
