As a member of this group, I became more of myself than I've ever been, personally and in business. Power gave me the space to see myself as others do: a POWERHOUSE. I got to stand with people I respect and admire — those who work hard, who are masters in their fields, people who give a sh%t about how their work impacts other people.
Nicole Edwards, POWER ALUMNI
You are a true hero of online business.
Achieving this level of success is rare; Keeping it is even more uncommon. To find new strategies when the old ones stop working, to hire the right support, to hustle for new business when your bottom line needs a boost but your customers are still adjusting to a world that is irrevocably changed?
That is no small thing.
You’ve earned your stripes.
It was sweaty work getting here, and you are not done yet.
Not asking for the sale more often, or asking in a whisper
Pricing offers so low that you can't hire enough support
Apologizing for your pricing, and losing the confidence of your customers
Sending too few emails because you don't want to pressure anyone
Giving away too much of your time for free
Hanging on to business relationships that aren't reciprocal
Including so much personal support that you're too drained and can't grow
Not asking for the sale in a clear way, and trusting people to say yes or no
Those issues are common among business owners who care a heckuva lot about the impact of their choices. And in times like these, those often feel like justifiable choices (and sometimes they are).
the solution can't always be "just raise your prices" (except when it is, and it helps to have someone you trust to say that)
the line between what's good for you and what's good for your customers is a tight rope every conscientious business owner must learn to walk
there are no one-size-fits-all answers that work for any type of business—in most cases you don't know until you try it
Complex problems need to be solved in community, with accountability and support from other business owners who are staring down their P&L statement every single month, just like you.
But here's one piece of the puzzle that is just a simple fact of doing business in 2024...
Here's the thing—
It'll take subscribers. Greater reach. A stellar reputation.
Audience size matters—it's a fact.
A big part of our focus this year in Power will be audience growth—specifically, intentional email list growth, and nurturing an audience that will read, share and shoutout your work.
(Good news: Intentional growth and nurture are two things I happen to be great at.)
One thing I've learned from hanging around growth bros is that WE GROW BY LIFTING UP EACH OTHER.
We grow faster when we work together, when we focus on nurturing deep relationships and partnering with people whose work we respect.
....plus we'll talk about how and which of those strategies to try, given that your plate is, most likely, already very full (me too).
In addition to all of the necessary, mastermind-y conversations about what we charge, how we work, who we hire, and how we sell, we'll talk about:
Strategies for growth that the course creator industry isn't tuned into yet
Paid aquisition channels and how to make them work, (with or without lead magnets)
Consent-based strategies that turn low-intent lurkers into an engaged audience
The best thing about Power was the amazing, memorable, brave and generous people I met. They have some fascinating businesses that were so inspiring.
Power delivered things I didn't know I needed. I got a lot accomplished in a short space of time. My list growth strategies are in a hugely better place. I have also created content that I'm really proud of.
Nicola mclennan, Boost your practice
In an industry as fast-moving as ours, that makes me an elder.
2024 has been as challenging for me as it has been for many of the businesses I work with. Thankfully, I've already made a career out of breaking the very same systems that got me where I am today. Change is my middle name. (Have you noticed?)
Despite the challenges, I love my work more than I ever have.
The mission of my business, my stellar reputation and the professional relationships I've built mean that my business can weather a lot of turbulence, and so can yours.
In 2019 I joined a mastermind that was instrumental in bringing to life the Tarzan you know today.
It was a safe place for me to share a version of me the world hadn't met yet. To share new stories. To sunset offers and ditch tried-and-true strategies without knowing what would come next.
...to be more Tarzan than I'd ever been, and see if my business could still work.
That's what I aim to provide with Power: a safe place to try out a version of you and your business that the world has yet to meet.

Most importantly

Not only to you get Tarzan in your corner, you'll be standing alongside business owners who understand the unique challenges you face every single day.
A wicked smart group of thought partners who will hold your toes to the fire, be brave enough to challenge you, and big enough to see you for everything you are.

"Tarzan has nailed the balance of work and play. If you are looking for a community that can hold you in really complex conversations and tricky puzzles that you're trying to solve, if you want excellent facilitation, if you want newsletter growth and business growth strategies that are actionable and practical and grounded, and if you want to have a super great time on retreats with your colleagues and with Tarzan, ten out of ten, I would recommend joining Tarzan's Power Mastermind."
Maegan Megginson, Burnout Recovery + Deep Rest Expert
You are a recognized expert in your field, with a very good track record of serving customers
You're no beginner (even if, in certain areas, you feel like one) — you've been in business at least a few years
If we came up with a $50K idea tomorrow—you have the team, support and capacity to execute on it
You're well-connected in your pocket of the industry, and highly respected by your peers
You're a bit of a weirdo who wants to be in spaces where it's safe to let your freak flag fly
You're only interested in strategies that light your creative spark, no matter what it means for your revenue
Just dreaming here, but these are the sorts of things that happen when you join a group of smart business leaders who are generous with their knowledge, connection and willingness to be seen
You show up not totally sure what this experience will be, but so excited to find out
On our monthly call you unexpectedly blurt out “I can’t believe I’m saying this out loud, but what I really want to do is…” — and this becomes your mission for the next 9 months
You fly to Canada to spend three pleasurable “tennis + champagne” days talking business, dreaming up collabs and being seen in a whole new way
After a 3-hour newsletter intensive with Tarzan, your email list starts producing revenue in much more predictable ways
With this new revenue coming in, you’re able to take time out to work on a passion project
You get matched with a member you haven’t connected with much yet, and the two of you collaborate on a genius new offer
You send a brave email to your list about something you finally feel ready to talk about, and it results in a speaking opportunity that brings in a whole new audience
You bring on a new team member with a compensation plan that’s different from anything you’ve done before, and makes BOTH OF YOU so excited and proud
You jump on a plane for Euro Summer Camp, an unforgettable experience that solidifies the relationships you've been building for the last 9 months
"Tarzan encouraged us all to get more courageous in our businesses – starting with email – but this had a knock-on effect for our visibility, pricing and confidence.
On Tarzan’s suggestion, I applied to speak at a national copywriting conference and my pitch was selected out of dozens of submissions. To say I’m BEYOND excited to share what I’ve learned from working with her is an understatement! I’ve now completely up-levelled my game. I am showing up like the business owner I always wanted to be. Thank you, Tarzan. You’re a rock star and you’ve inspired me to be one too."
Sophia Arthur, copywriter and 2019 mastermind participant
Power will be an as-safe-as-Tarzan-can-make-it place to talk about the real issues facing our businesses right now, so that we can help each other navigate the changing landscape of online business.
Listen, I don’t do big, transformational promises. This mastermind will include a combination of both visible and invisible results—and they might not be exactly the ones you signed up to get. That’s often the way it goes with masterminds.
You produce powerful writing that gets people’s attention, creates long-term customers and positions you as a leader in your industry
You have an even stronger message that attracts people who really want to be there (customers, employees, and email subscribers)
You build resilience in the face of criticism for doing things differently, or in a way other people might say is “wrong” or “bad”
You lean on your team more, and trust they might even be better than you at some things
Your audience has a sense that they are are part of a movement, and your work becomes more meaningful
You feel less alone
You make a greater impact on your industry, your individual customers, and the lives of your employees
Marketing becomes a lot more peaceful—and is often just as effective
You have new perspective on persuasion, why marketing strategies that used to work don’t anymore, and what to try next
You have a safe place to talk about how we can mitigate the harms of capitalism and white supremacy in our businesses
You increase the profitability of your business in a way that feels really awesome, and let go of stuff that's not working
You get regular support and insights from other businesses to navigate the next two years (which might look really different from when you started your online business)
NICOLA MCLENNAN, BOOST YOUR PRACTICE
"Number one thing is the people inside the community. I was honored to stand next to them and felt like I was in the right place and also in a really, really safe place.
I got a lot of stuff done. Having that access to Tarzan when you need it, especially in terms of writing copy. I got some big assets in my business completely rewritten, which is such a daunting task that I'd been kicking the can down as a project and putting off for quite some time. Having her there to roll sleeves up and get into projects like that was invaluable.
Maegan Megginson, Burnout Recovery + Deep Rest Expert
"Tarzan holds a space that allows you to be exactly where you're at. I am a highly sensitive introvert. Sometimes I find mastermind groups to be really overwhelming energetically. In many masterminds I feel pressured to do more than I'm capable of doing, to go faster than I'm capable of going, and I end my experience in many masterminds feeling just totally burned out. And that was not the case with Tarzan. It was not the case with the power community. I felt so embraced and accepted and really celebrated and being exactly where I was every step of the way.
Fair question! I bet you’re used to being the smartest in the room, huh? One of my favorite things about me is that I attract really, REALLY great people. I’m asking you to trust me here. No one will be invited to join the group without talking to me first, and I’m going to personally ensure this group is everything I said it was going to be.
Power is a size-inclusive group, so if your business promotes diet culture and intentional weight loss, Power wouldn't be a fit.
I also don't work with multi-level marketers.
Other than that we don’t have to agree on things in order to work together. In fact, it's better if we don't.
If you're not sure, apply + book a call so we can talk. I'm not scary, promise.
As a member of this group you’ll have my phone number.
You can call me if you ever need a quick chat. You'll also be one of the few humans in the world who has a link where you can book me by the hour at a rate you’ll find surprisingly affordable.
My hope is that you won't need it.
Yes, definitely. Our retreat locations will be based on the needs of the group. Before any location is finalized we’ll have a conversation about any accessibility needs.
As a rule, seating will always include a variety of wide, comfortable chairs both with arms and without. There will not be any branded, matching clothing distributed. Any transportation at group retreats will be able to comfortably accommodate all bodies.
The second retreat was extended from 1 day to 4 days.
All retreat costs are now included in the price. Last year members paid for their own accommodations and food. This year everything except flights is included.
Not apologizing. This group is just as good as any $20K mastermind I've seen or joined.
I've chosen a time that works for North America and Europe because that's where our returning members are. If you want to talk about time zone accommodation, email my team and ask.
There are no modules. No worksheets. No program login. Just raw, honest information sharing and support. Power is about community support and building connections with people who genuinely understand the challenges (and opportunities!) that come with running a business like yours.
Officially, no. If you decide to drop out before we start, I’ll try to find someone to fill your spot. If you drop out in the middle that’s a big cost to me, since there are only 10 spots. That’s why I’m not doing guarantees.
Last year the revenue minimum was $250K/year. I didn't find revenue alone to be a good indicator of "right fit."
Some people have run profitable businesses that they sold or shut down. Others may have worked at a company and gained a ton of expertise that's relevant to the group, but their business isn't very profitable yet.
Sometimes wildly successful people have bad years. That doesn't make them any less brilliant.
When reviewing applications, I'm looking for brilliant humans with something to contribute. If that's you, apply and we'll talk about it.
A mastermind requires quite a lot of time and energy to run. It's likely I will want to take next year off.
If that's the case there will likely be some other new and interesting way to work with me. Don't join out of FOMO. There will always be something new and shiny to buy. I'm Tarzan, for goodness sakes.
All the time.
