YOUR 80’S PRICING PERSONA IS the…

You took this quiz, so you’re clearly awesome!

It takes guts to create a business on your own terms. While you might be struggling, you’re still in a better position than your neighbor Debbie who earns $12 an hour working for the IRS.

Fear not, you KMart cutie, I’m here to help you renovate your dilapidated storefront and create a pricing strategy that actually makes you money— sounds good, doesn’t it?

Here’s the thing:
You’re dramatically undervaluing your worth and you know it.

The rat race? It’s a thing of the past. Today’s version is a race to the bottom. Instead of rats, it’s broke ass freelancers and clueless course creators fighting each other with string cheese to rise above the noise and make a name for themselves.

I’m about to give you a real weapon (side note: no actual violence necessary)–so you can price your products and services based on value and escape commodity pricing.

SHARE YOUR RESULTS!

It’s Time to Go from KMart to K, Byeeee!

Don’t get me wrong, people I LOVED KMart <– but see how I used past tense?

KMart’s rock bottom prices didn’t give them a stable footing in the marketplace. Eventually, they caved. That’s what happens when you try to compete on price. Quality suffers. Burnout ensues. Morale? Pfft.

The only thing that lights you up is a surprise power outage that forces you to step away from the laptop and embrace the sweet siren song of the “unavailable” status … if only to help you momentarily forget that no one’s actually knocking!

How to Renovate Your Bargain Basement Pricing and Turn It Into a Rooftop Patio VIP Offer

1. Own Your Money Mindset

Right now, you need to stop thinking like an employee and start thinking like a business owner. Easier said than done, right? NOPE. It’s actually super easy, here’s how to do it:

Pricing your products and services to compete with the lowest common denominator is like a snake eating its own tail.

There’s no time, space, or budget for you to create a higher quality experience— thus, the low-quality, low-price cycle perpetuates.

It’s the straight and narrow path to burnout and resentment. And there’s more competition at the bottom than anywhere else.

When you don’t price your offer based on value, everyone suffers.

The moment you choose to move up a tax bracket is the moment you can start helping the kind folks you work with get better results.

It’s no secret that humans are weird. We place higher value on products, services, or experiences that come at a higher price point.

This psychological flaw is a double-edged sword. When used to your advantage it allows you to focus more on quality than quantity— while also inspiring your client or customer to truly value what you’ve created.

2. Brand Yourself Out of “Basement Status”

It’s not enough to throw up a website on Squarespace in 45 minutes and call it a day. Or worse… rely on UpWork to find you clients or free course hosting platforms to house your online course.

Get clear on how you want to be perceived. When someone comes across your website, sales page, or social media profile, what impression do you want them to walk away with? Write that question on a post-it and stick it on your computer screen, so you can mull it over.

“There is no truth, there is only perception.” – Gustave Flaubert

If you don’t want to be perceived as a discount superstar, then tick tock, it’s time to create a more cohesive brand experience. You don’t have to break the bank either. High quality photos, consistent fonts, and a color palette go a long way.

The most important piece of the branding puzzle? Know who you’re trying to attract. If you don’t have an ideal client or customer in mind, it’s homework time.

You get to choose who you want to serve, not the other way around.

3. Discover Your Special Sauce to go from Fast Food to Gourmet Every Day

That ideal client or customer we just talked about? They’ve got 99 problems and you only need to figure out the solution to ONE. When you’ve done that, you can name your price and sell it.

To you, X amount of dollars might seem like a lot, but to someone whose got a serious problem that they need solved, whatever you’re likely to charge is chump change.

Up until now, you’ve likely been a chronic people pleaser. You may have positive associations with phrases like “jack of all trades” or “multi-tasking” <– I’m here to pop those belief bubbles because doing it all doesn’t sell— specificity does.

Pricing Pundit and Former “KMart Special” Turned Celebrity Copywriter

Hey there! I’m really happy you’re here. I know what it’s like to get stuck in the suboptimal pricing pit of doom.

I went from barely scraping by to working with clients like Amy Porterfield in a few short years.

Here’s the thing: if you’re good at what you do and you get results you get to determine a price point that works for YOU. Reverse engineer your business so that you run the show instead of the other way around.

Now that you’re here, I’ll show you how. Be warned, I’m unapologetically going to push you beyond what you thought possible. Pricing is a game, and you’re about to win.
